Event Recap: Reigniting the Passion for K-12 Computer Science EducationOn July 14, 2023, the University of Santo Tomas became a vibrant hub of knowledge and collaboration, as it hosted the successful event titled "Reigniting the Passion for K-12 Computer Science Education." A gathering that attracted 61 attendees from 17 educational institutions, the event shone a spotlight on the importance of enhancing computer science education in the K-12 sector. The seminar provided a valuable platform for attendees to learn more about the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) Philippines, get to know its officers, and network with other members. It also offered a great opportunity to share personal experiences with teaching and computer science and acquire new knowledge and skills in the field.

My presentation, entitled "Decoding the Future: Unleashing the Potential of Filipino Children Through Computer Science," emphasized the essential role of Computer Science in K-12 education. I introduced the attendees to the DEVCON Kids Program by DEVCON Philippines, the CSTA Philippines, and the CSTA CS Teachers and K-12 Standards. |
