The Computer Science Teachers' Association (CSTA) Philippines Chapter recently held its inaugural meeting, marking an important milestone in the advancement of computer science education in the country. The meeting, chaired by Ms. Pam Ros Damarillo, the esteemed President of CSTA Philippines, brought together a diverse group of passionate educators dedicated to shaping the future of computer science education. The event commenced promptly on April 21, 2023 at 9:00 AM, with Ms. Damarillo calling the members to order and facilitating a productive session.

After the introductions, Ms. Damarillo provided an overview of the meeting agenda, highlighting several essential items crucial to the growth and development of CSTA Philippines. The agenda included discussions on various topics such as the introduction of CSTA Philippines as the first chapter outside of North America, the development of the chapter's website, the review of By-Laws, the Chapter Success Rubric, and the Job Description for the Chapter Board of Directors. These topics formed the foundation for the chapter's future endeavors and set the tone for the meeting's discussions.
 
Appointment of Board Officers:
One of the significant highlights of the meeting was the appointment of the board officers, who would play vital roles in guiding the chapter's activities. The board officers were elected by the membership of the chapter, following a careful deliberation process. The appointed officers demonstrated exceptional qualities and expertise in their respective roles:

Vice-President for Communications: Edwin De Guzman Mr. Edwin De Guzman, a skilled communicator and advocate for computer science education, took on the crucial role of Vice-President for Communications. Secretary: Joel Bautista Mr. Joel Bautista has been appointed as the Secretary of CSTA Philippines Chapter. With his meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail, Mr. Bautista will ensure smooth operations and accurate record-keeping within the association.
